¹     Oprah Winfrey is one of the most recognizable people in the world. She is best known as the host of her own show, The Oprah Winfrey Show. That may be one of many things she is involved in today, but that is not where it all began.
 
²     Oprah began a career in broadcasting in high school. She became a news anchor for a station in Nashville, Tennessee. She was nineteen years old. That made her the youngest person to ever anchor the news at the station. She was also the first African American news anchor. Then she moved to Baltimore, Maryland. She was the anchor for the six o'clock news. Later, she became a co-host of a morning talk show there.
 
³     In 1984, Oprah made her move to Chicago. She hosted a morning talk show. It was called AM Chicago. Within a month it became the number one talk show. A short time later the show became known as The Oprah Winfrey Show. In 1986, her morning talk show was seen all over the U.S.
