1     Martin Van Buren was our eighth president. He was born in 1782. He was born in the state of New York. Van Buren was a smart child. He began law school when he was 14. He won his first case when he was 16. He was elected to the U. S. Senate. Andrew Jackson was our seventh president. Jackson trusted Van Buren's opinion. Van Buren was the Secretary of State. This was during Jackson's first term. Jackson was elected for a second term. Van Buren became Jackson's vice president. Next, Van Buren was elected president. .....
