2     The peregrine falcon has a name that fits the bird very well. Peregrine means "wanderer." Peregrine falcons do roam. In one year they may travel 15,000 miles. A peregrine falcon may leave its home on the tundra in the far north and spend the winter in South America.

3     Peregrine falcons are found all over the world. They live on every continent except Antarctica. They live in all kinds of climates and habitats. You can find them in a city, in the desert, in a forest, in the tropics, or in a wetlands area.
