The Lone Star Flag

1 Texas is known as the Lone Star State. This Lone Star State also has a Lone Star flag. But the star isn't alone. It has a red and white stripe to keep it company. It has a blue stripe as well. These colors are very symbolic. The red stands for bravery. The white stands for purity and liberty. The blue stands for loyalty. This famous flag is not the only flag that has ever flown above Texas. Many other flags have flown there too. Before it became a state, Texas was claimed by many countries. Spain once claimed it. France and Mexico did as well. The Confederacy also claimed Texas. The Lone Star flag started flying above Texas in 1839. Back then, .....
