1     Millard Fillmore was the thirteenth president. He was the vice president under Zachary Taylor. When Taylor died during his second year in office, Fillmore became the new president. Fillmore was born in 1800. He was born in rural New York. He lived in a log cabin. He went to school in a one-room school. When Fillmore grew up, he became a lawyer. His life was proof that with hard work, anyone could achieve the American Dream. He held a state office. He was in the House of Representatives. Finally, he was elected .....
