1     Caption: The picture shows a meteorite, a meteoroid that reached the surface of the Earth.
 
2     Have you ever seen a shooting star? It looks like a flash of light across the night sky. Shooting stars are not really stars. They are small pieces of rock that burn as they fall down to Earth from space. These pieces of rock in space are called meteoroids. Meteoroids can be made by comets. As the comet moves closer to the sun, ice melts and pieces of rock .....
