Community - A Place to Belong

1     You live in a community. The people that live in your town or city are part of your community. Your community is a special place where many people share similar ideas about how to live their lives. Community members share grocery stores, parks, banks, and the local post office. The teachers and students in your school are part of your community, too. You build relationships with the people you see at school. You may get excited when you see your teachers or friends outside of your school. This is because you have a relationship with them. You are a member of the community and you share a common community link; you go to the same school. A community gives you a sense of belonging. Your community may have special traditions like festivals, parades, and holiday events. Your community is unique. .....
