Sand Castle Fun!
By Colleen Messina

1     Even if you are just a kid, you can have your own castle! It won't be made from stone. It won't be big enough to live in, but it is fun to build. You can make a sand castle.

2     Going to the beach is a great thing to do on a hot day. The sun is bright. The sand is warm. The water is cool. Everything you need is there to build a sand castle. You can draw a picture ahead of time. This can help you plan. You will know just what kind of castle you want to make.

3     Some tools make building a castle easier. Buckets and shovels help a lot! You can also use plastic spoons, knives, or forks. Some people use fancy tools to help them build sand castles. They work hard. They make fancy castles. Some of them study how to make a good castle. There is even a video called "How to Build the Perfect Sand Castle."
