Isle Royale National Park
By Meg Leonard

1     Isle Royale National Park is in Michigan. There is one large island. This island is surrounded by about four hundred smaller islands. These islands are in the northwest corner of Lake Superior. The park is north of the upper peninsula of Michigan. It is very isolated. You can only get to the park by boat or plane.

2     The weather at Isle Royale is usually cool. Lake Superior's water temperature rarely rises above 52 degrees Fahrenheit. The air temperature rarely gets above 80 degrees. The islands do not get much human contact. Isle Royale National Park gets as many visitors in one year as Yellowstone National Park gets in one day! Still, people who want to be alone like to come to Isle Royale.
