1     George W. Bush was the forty-third president. He was born in 1946 in Connecticut. His father, George H. W. Bush, was our forty-first president. George W. Bush grew up in Texas. He went to college at Yale University. He was a pilot in the Texas National Guard. Bush got his master's degree from Harvard. Then he returned to Texas to work in the energy business. Bush worked on his father's presidential campaign in 1988. In 1994, Bush was elected governor of Texas. He was elected to two terms. In 2000, Bush was elected president. This was only the second time the son of a president was elected president. The last presidents who were father and son were John Adams and John Quincy Adams.
