Cut, Snip, and Dry -- There's No Need To Cry!
By Erin Horner

1     Yesterday my sister pulled my hair. It hurt! Today I got a haircut. I was really nervous. I thought that if my sister's little hand could hurt my hair, a big sharp pair of scissors would really hurt my hair. But it didn't! Why doesn't a haircut hurt?

2     Your hair is made of keratin. It is a type of protein. It is the same protein found in your fingernails and toenails. Your hair grows through tiny holes on your head.
