Ready, Set, Eat!

1     Rumble, rumble. Growl, growl. Every morning I hear this same noise. It's not a monster. It's not my pet dog. It is my stomach! When I wake up each morning I am hungry! My body is telling me that it is time for breakfast. Breakfast is very important. Do you know why? After 8-12 hours without food, your body needs to be refueled. It needs new nutrients. It needs protein and fiber, too. Kids who eat breakfast each morning tend to do better in school. They have better math grades and higher reading scores. They also make better food choices during the day. This helps to keep their hearts healthy. It helps to keep the rest of their bodies healthy, too! .....
