Timber Wolf
By Cindy Grigg |
|
1 The timber wolf is a type of gray wolf. It is the largest member of the dog family. Timber wolves are twice as big as coyotes. The timber wolf lives in wooded areas in the United States and Canada. Timber wolves have silvery gray-brown fur on their backs. Their bellies are light tan and cream. They have bushy tails that are usually held straight behind them, not curled over their backs. In winter, their fur becomes darker on the neck, shoulders, and rump.![]() |
