Cut? Then Clean and Cover!
By Erin Horner

1     One moment you're up. The next moment you're down -- literally! Has this ever happened to you? Have you ever tripped and fallen down? Chances are you have. Everybody falls down sometimes! If you don't remember ever falling, ask your parents. When you were learning to walk you probably tumbled a time or two! Falling is not fun.

2     Often when we fall we end up with a cut or scrape on our hands or legs. These are really not fun! Cuts or scrapes are small injuries to the skin. They might be small, but they still hurt. They also need to be cleaned. Any time you have an open sore on your body, germs can try to sneak inside. These pesky germs might make you sick. They might cause an infection in your body. That is why it is so important to clean and cover your cuts.
