A Halloween Letter
By Mary Lynn Bushong

1     October 31, 1925

2     My dear niece Annabel,

3     I am writing this letter to you after last night's wonderful Halloween party that was held at my dear friend Cornelia and her husband John's house. The party began the day before Halloween so that we could spend two days enjoying the festivities. We arrived yesterday afternoon, and I was escorted to the third floor and into the Watson Room.

4     Annabel, you will not believe how beautiful everything is. We enjoyed supper in the grand banquet hall. The food was delicious. Everywhere one looks there are Halloween and harvest decorations. The table was laid out with pumpkins and festive flowers of all colors.
