¹     We have fives senses that help us to understand our world. They are sight, smell, taste, touch, and hearing. They help us recognize people, places, and things. They help us find food. They help keep us safe. Each of our senses gives us clues about our environment. Imagine that you have found something that you have never seen before. You must use your senses to understand it and learn what it is. Your sense of sight tells you what it looks like: its color, its shape, and its size. Your sense of touch helps you understand even more. Is it hard or soft? Is it warm or cold? Does it cause pain? Your sense of smell adds another clue. Does it smell good or bad? Does it smell like something you have smelled before? Your sense of hearing might help you, too. Does it make a noise? .....
