Skier Lara Gut: A Winner in Any Language

¹     Are you excited when you are one year older? Lara Gut is. She was especially glad to have her 18th birthday. She got her driver's license. She cast a ballot. These are big goals for any young person to reach. But Lara has another big goal. She wants to be an Olympic skier. Not every 18-year-old strives for that!

²     Lara was born on April 27, 1991. She is Swiss. Her family is close. They like sports. Lara started skiing when she was little. Her father is a skier. He trained Lara for many years. Her mother is a gym teacher. Her brother skis, too.

³     Lara has other talents and interests in addition to skiing. Lara can speak five languages and likes to relax by watching television. Her family watches TV upside down to improve balance. Lara speaks Italian, French, German, English, and Spanish. This talented alpine skier can say she is a winner in five languages.
