Centipedes

1     Centipedes have long, narrow bodies like worms do. They are not worms. They are invertebrates (animals that don't have backbones). Some kinds of centipedes grow to be an inch long. Some kinds grow to be twelve inches long! Centipedes hunt and eat other small animals. Some eat insects, spiders, earthworms, or other centipedes. The larger ones eat bigger prey like baby mice or small lizards. Centipedes are not insects. Insects have three body segments. Centipedes have more body segments-a lot more! They may have from ten to one hundred segments. The segments look a little like beads on a .....
