1 When you think of dinosaurs, you probably think of big animals. Compsognathus (komp sug NATH uss) was one of the smallest dinosaurs that ever lived. It was about the size of a turkey. For a dinosaur, that's tiny! Its name means "dainty or elegant jaw." Its slender jaws had many small, sharp teeth. It was a meat eater. It was a good hunter that could move fast.
