1 Kite flying has been a favorite way to pass the time for many years. One popular kite is a box kite. On February 15, 1893, Lawrence Hargrave flew his first box kite in Australia. Hargrave was an inventor. He was first interested in flying machines. He invented a variety of motors. Hargrave then moved on to designing kites. He developed a box kite. He called his box kite a cellular kite because it had two connected cells. He also thought that it looked like a honeycomb. .....![]() |
