2     Dinner will be served at noon. That means you will have plenty of time this morning to get dressed and to write those notes you have been meaning to write. You should even have some leisure time to embroider or do whatever else you like.

3     Since dinner time is a long way off, I'm sure you will want some breakfast first. The servants have been awake for hours. They have already had their own breakfast and are ready to serve yours in your room. They will bring you the bread and butter you always enjoy and a selection of meat or fish.

4     When you are ready, your servant will also help you prepare for the day. She will help you dress, since a lady requires assistance with that task. She will do your hair, too. You will probably choose not to bother with makeup today, since this is an everyday dinner at your estate, not a special occasion. Still, a lady is always expected to dress for dinner, and so you will want to allow about an hour for dressing.

5     Morning is a good time for communication with friends and relatives, too. So when you are ready, have a seat at the small desk in your room. Take out paper and choose a quill pen, and you can catch up on your writing. A brief note will let your neighbor know that you would be glad to accept her invitation to visit. Write that note that you have been meaning to send to the tailor, too. Let him know your choice of fabric so that he can begin work on the new cape you ordered.
