Buying in Bulk
By Cathy Pearl

1     Shoppers have been buying items in bulk for many years. Bulk items are usually sold in a large amount. Another way bulk items are sold is in a large container. The person buying the item scoops out as much as she wants and puts it into a bag.

2     Buying in bulk can be very convenient. There are some items that are only sold in bulk. The only way you will be able to buy this item is to take the time to scoop it into a bag.

3     When you buy it in bulk, you can buy just the right amount. This saves you from being forced to buy more than you will use. You can also get a large amount of one item. This keeps you from having to buy several packages of the same thing.

4     The prices on bulk items are usually less than those on packaged items. This is because there isn't any packaging. When you buy an item, you are paying for more than just the item. You have to pay for the packaging, too. Bulk items don't have this extra cost.
