A Murder in the Garden
By Joyce Furstenau

1
There was a murder in the garden one dark and scary night.

I saw it with my own two eyes. It gave me such a fright!

The tiny little thing was caught. It had no chance at all.

I saw it happen in the corner, just inside the garden wall.

I watched it disappearing, one leg at a time.

Then I began to wonder, was this really such a crime?

It was only Mother Nature doing what comes naturally.

It is in a spider's nature to make a meal out of a bee.

Spiders spin a web because it is a spider's way.

Then it will sit and wait until the web has trapped its prey.

A spider needs to eat his dinner just like you and me.

Once the bee was caught, the spider couldn't set him free.

So if you're in the garden on a dark and scary night,

Stay away from the spider webs, and you will be all right!
