Napoleon's Wars

2     Napoleon rose through the ranks to become a top military leader during the French Revolution, but when the Revolution ended in 1799, he was just getting started.
 
3     The kings and queens of the other European countries recognized Napoleon as a serious threat. Maybe he would try to take over their countries, too, the way he took over France. Even if he didn't, just the idea of the revolution and of new leaders rising up and trying to take the place of kings and queens was very worrisome.
 
4     They had already tried to stop him during the revolution by forming coalitions, groups of allies that banded together to stop Napoleon. They hoped to stop the ideas of the French Revolution from spreading.
