Paying Your Credit Card Bill

1     You've probably seen the commercials. The ones where the person paying with cash causes the checkout line to back up. "Everyone" pays with a credit card these days. Credit cards are easy and convenient as long as you are careful with them. But like everything else, you have to pay the bill every month.

2     Your credit card company will send you a statement every month. It will list your name and address. Make sure they are correct. It will also list your monthly charges. These are things you used your credit card to pay for.

3     Some companies will let you pay some of your bills with a credit card. This is called an automatic payment. Cell phone, TV cable, and life insurance are some examples of companies that sometimes will bill your credit card for your monthly charges. If you have automatic payments on your credit card, make sure the charges are correct. Usually, they will be about the same every month. If something seems wrong, contact the company that made the charge first. Don't call the credit card company.
