A Visit to Roger Williams Park Zoo

1 Jenny bounded down the stairs and skipped into the kitchen. Mom was packing her lunch bag for the day.
2 "Good Morning, Jenny," said Mom. "You seem very excited this morning."
3 "Oh, I am, mom," said Jenny. "I can't wait to go on the field trip to the zoo!"
4 "I'm sure it will be wonderful," said Mom handing Jenny her lunch bag. "I can't wait to hear all about it this afternoon."
5 Beep! Beep!
6 "There's the bus," said Mom. "You'd better get going."
7 "Bye, mom," said Jenny waving as she ran out the door to the bus.
8 "Have fun," Mom called to her.
9 On the bus ride to school, Jenny could hardly sit still. The Roger Williams Park Zoo was her favorite place to visit. She loved the animals, gardens, and petting zoo. When the bus arrived at school Jenny was more excited than ever. As she came down off the bus she was greeted by her friend Ellie.
10 "Hi, Jenny," said Ellie.
11 "Hi, Ellie," said Jenny. "Are you as excited about today as I am?"
12 "I can hardly wait!" said Ellie. "Let's get to class quickly!"
13 The girls chatted as they walked to their classroom. Inside, their teacher, Mrs. Scott, was sitting at her desk going over some papers.
