2.  Mountain Springs held a citywide Labor Day celebration Saturday. They had a parade, a picnic at the city park, and games for the children. At 3:19 p.m. the mayor dedicate a statue in honor of the people who have helped make conditions better for workers. The parade began at 1:03 p.m. and lasted forty-one minutes. How long was it between the end of the parade and the beginning of the mayor's speech?


3.  Destiny got stuck in the elevator and she panicked but the maintenance crew soon arrived. She was stuck for 1 hour and 30 minutes. The maintenance crew had been working on the problem for 35 minutes. How long did it take for the maintenance crew to arrive?


4.  It's harvest time. On Tuesday, Darlene took ten loads of grain to the elevator, and Shannon took eleven loads. On Wednesday, Darlene took seven loads, and Shannon took six. How many truck loads went to the grain elevator on Tuesday and Wednesday? How many more loads did they get on Tuesday than Wednesday?


5.  Makayla bought a bottled chocolate milkshake at the grocery store. There were four hundred ninety-one calories in the bottle. A homemade milkshake has three hundred fifty calories for the same amount. How many more calories does the bottled shake have than the homemade shake?


6.  William wanted to go to the beach sometime. He had read about the coast but had never been there. He lived all the way across the state from the beach. It is six hundred eighty-one miles from his home to the nearest beach. His family drove three hundred sixty-two miles the first day. How much further do they have to go to get to the beach?
