Conjunctions


Use a comma before a coordinating conjunction that joins two independent clauses.
(and, but, for, nor, or, so, yet)

Mom is driving the car to the shop, but Dad will pick it up when it is fixed.
I had to talk louder, so Grandpa could hear me.
    



Rewrite each sentence using the correct punctuation.
1.  We like to eat pizza so Mom ordered some for dinner.

2.  Betty had the flu last week but she is feeling better now.

3.  Mel bought a present for Kim and he gave it to her at the restaurant.

4.  Our outing at the lake was fun but we were glad to get back home.
