France, China, Austria, and South Korea were awarded gold (6, 7, 8, and 5), silver (9, 3, 7, and 4), and bronze (5, 4, 9, and 3) medals. Figure out how many of each type of medals were won by each of the four countries.

For example, country x may have won 6 gold, 7 silver, and 4 bronze medals. However, if country x won 6 gold medals, that means country z did not win 6 gold medals. Instead, country z may have won 7 gold medals.

Use the clues to figure out the number of medals awarded to each country.


1.    France won three silver medals in snowboarding as well as two silver medals in ski jumping.

2.    Austria won the most gold medals.

3.    South Korea won the fewest bronze medals.

4.    One country won an odd number of bronze medals and four silver medals.

5.    One country won an odd number of bronze medals and nine silver medals.

6.    Austria won more than seven silver medals.

7.    Austria won more than four silver medals.

8.    One country won an even number of bronze medals and seven silver medals.

9.    South Korea won more gold medals than bronze medals. South Korea also won more gold medals than silver medals.

10.    China won fewer silver medals than gold medals. China also won fewer silver medals than bronze medals.

11.    South Korea won either three or nine silver medals.

12.    Austria won more silver medals than gold medals. Austria also won more silver medals than bronze medals.

13.    One country won seven gold medals. The same country also won three silver medals.

14.    One country won four silver medals. The same country also won four gold medals.

15.    China won either five or six gold medals.

16.    South Korea won a total of thirteen medals.

17.    China won either five or nine bronze medals.

18.    France won either seven or nine silver medals.

19.    Austria won either four or five bronze medals.

20.    China won a total of nineteen medals.
