Kevin, Alexander, James, Katherine, Savannah, and Alexis are competing in the Olympics. They are each from a different country (North Korea, Nigeria, Iceland, Japan, United States, and Great Britain), and they are also each competing in a different event (figure skating, freestyle skiing, ice hockey, Nordic skiing, curling, and downhill skiing).

Figure out the country each person is from and the event he or she is competing in.
(Assume that each hint refers to one of the six people. For example, if Kevin has lunch with someone he met from another country, then assume that this person is among one of the six people).


1.    Though Alexis has never been to Japan, she would like to visit.

2.    Alexander had lunch with someone he met. The person he met is competing in the downhill skiing event.

3.    Katherine is not from Iceland.

4.    Though Katherine has never been to Nigeria, she would like to visit.

5.    The person competing in the ice hockey event is from Europe. This is her third time to represent her country at the games.

6.    Kevin did not compete in the figure skating event.

7.    Though Savannah has never been to North Korea, she would like to visit.

8.    The person competing in the freestyle skiing event is from Asia. This is his second time to represent his country at the games.

12.    The person from United States and his friend invited the person from Iceland to dinner. The person from Iceland thought it was a great idea, and she gladly accepted.

13.    The person from Great Britain and her friend invited the person from Nigeria to dinner. The person from Nigeria thought it was a great idea, and he gladly accepted.

14.    The person competing in the curling event is from North America. This is his second time to represent his country at the games.

15.    Alexis is not from Iceland.

16.    James had lunch with someone he met. The person he met is competing in the curling event.

17.    Savannah did not compete in the downhill skiing event.

18.    The person from Japan is not competing in the curling event.

19.    Kevin had lunch with someone he met. The person he met is competing in the curling event.
