She had planned to build her model on a 24-inch wide, 58-inch long piece of poster board, but her model grew too large. Her father cut a piece of light plywood for her model. It was four feet wide and seven feet long. What is the perimeter of the plywood base?


3.   Joshua had to prove that he could still throw a strike even though he was getting older. He threw the ball to his son and his son missed the first time, but got a home run on the next throw. In Joshua's career as a professional baseball pitcher, he threw four hundred twenty-seven curve balls, five hundred thirty-five sinkers, and four hundred thirty knuckle balls. How many balls did he throw in his career?
