1.   Our class delivered a box of scarves to the orphanage in our town. There were one hundred thirteen children at the orphanage. We had five boxes of scarves and each box had twenty-eight scarves in it. How many scarves did we deliver? Did we have enough for each child?




2.   We went skiing with our school group over Christmas break. We had so much fun. We each got to stay in our own hotel room at the ski resort. We had eleven rooms and each room cost $116.07 per night. We were there for four nights. What was out total bill for the hotel rooms at the end of our trip?




3.   Mom spent a lot of time sewing mittens and scarves for us. She spent 2 hours and 32 minutes on Tuesday, 2 hours and 57 minutes on Wednesday, and 2 hours and 44 minutes on Thursday. She finally finished on Thursday. How much time did she spend in all? State your answer in hours and minutes.




4.   We were so happy that it snowed today. We got a lot of snow - almost 6 inches! Each class was able to build a snowman. We have four hundred twenty-nine students and twenty-five classrooms in our school. On average, how many children are in each classroom?




5.   Dad had to stay home from work because of all the ice on the roads. The unfortunate thing is that he doesn't get paid when he stays home because of weather. He earns $23.44 per hour. He lost seven hours of pay by staying home. How much money did Dad lose that day?




6.   We like to ride our sled down the hill by our house. We always try to see how far we can ride it before it stops. Yesterday, we tried it three times. The first time, we rode it one hundred forty-eight feet and six inches. The next time, we rode it one hundred twenty-five feet and three inches, and the last time, we rode it one hundred twenty-one feet and two inches. How far did we ride it all together? State your answer in feet and inches.
