¹     Victoria went to the cupboard. She pulled out a can of soup. "Mom!" she yelled.
 
²     Mom came running into the kitchen. "What's wrong, Victoria?"
 
³     "I want soup for lunch," said Victoria. "I don't know how to make it."
 
⁴     "You have to read the label," Mom said.
 
⁵     Victoria made a face. "I don't know how to read the label. Can't you make it for me?"
 
⁶     Mom shook her head. "Nope. If you want soup, you will have to make it. I can help you."
 
⁷     Victoria sighed. "Okay, what do I need to do?"
 
⁸     "Look at the side of the can. Find the directions for how to make the soup."
