Looking for a Job
By Cathy Pearl
1 Many times in your life, you will need to look for a job. Sometimes a job can be really hard to find. If you need help, there are places that you can get it. One of these places is an employment agency. This is a business that helps you find a job. Because it is a business, you might have to pay a fee to get a job. The fee can be a lot of money. When you go to an agency, you should ask if they charge a fee.
2 Sometimes an employer will pay the fee. The employer is the company you would work for if you got a job with them. Sometimes the fee may not be a lot of money. It would be worth paying the fee to find a job. Sometimes it will be too much money. If you cannot afford to pay, don't go to a place where you will have to pay to get help. Some places will not charge a fee to help you find a job. This place may be called a job placement office. Many states and big cities have job placement offices. There you will talk to a counselor. The counselor will help you find a job.
3 The counselor can also help with other things. He or she will interview you to see what kind of jobs you can do. The counselor can help you get interviews for the job that you want.
