The King's Day
By Brenda B. Covert

The king had a kitten.
The kitten took a walk.
It walked on the king's book
to hear the kind king talk.

"Oh no!" cried the king.
"Take a good look!
You left a dark mark
on a page in my book!"

The kitten took a look.
The mark was hard to miss.
Sorry for the mess,
It gave the king a kiss!
