Kansas is Unique!

1 Did you know that Kansas is located in the very center of the contiguous United States? Well, it is. You may be wondering what contiguous means. It means the 48 states that border each other. That is, it does not include Alaska or Hawaii. The actual geographical center is located in Smith County, just north of Lebanon, Kansas. There is a stone monument marking its location. The monument was built before Alaska and Hawaii became states. Being the center makes Kansas both unique and important!
