Wings of Oshkosh
By Tammy Scarbrough

1     It was a calm Friday afternoon in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The early fall weather kept the temperatures just right. Jan and Mike were getting very excited knowing that the silence would soon be broken by the roar of airplanes coming to town. This was not just any ol' air show - it was the largest air show in the United States. The air show would draw people from almost every state and even from other countries.

2     "I can hardly wait to see which airplanes will show up this year!" Mike exclaimed.

3     "I bet there were over 5,000 of them last year," said Jan.

4     All of a sudden, Mike yelled, "I see one! I see one! There's a jet coming."

5     Jan looked up and saw an F-14 Tomcat coming in fast with its wings swept back.
