Georgia - Culture
By Ekaterina Zhdanova-Redman

1     Throughout history, there have been many great storytellers. These are people who teach and entertain by telling stories. Some stories are based in history, some are completely made up. Is storytelling an important part of your culture? Think about it, how do you like to be entertained? Do you like to go to the movies, watch television, or listen to music? Well, all of those are forms of storytelling. Do you think you could be a good storyteller?

2     There's a country where song and dance are central parts of its culture. In Georgia, song and dance have a long history and have great meaning for those who perform and those who watch. Georgia's rich history has a lot to do with this.

3     For thousands of years, many different people have been at home in Georgia. Greeks, Romans, Arabs, Persians, Turks, and many others have ruled Georgia throughout history. Each empire brought to Georgia parts of its culture. As you can imagine, Georgian culture is an odd mix. Georgian food is especially unique.
