¹     The sky grew dark. Fog hung over the lake. Gray smoke from the fire floated into the trees. Jay and Kayla sat and waited.
 
²     "Okay, kids," Dad said. "It is time for a ghost story!" 
 
³     "I hope it is scary!" Jay said.
 
⁴     "There were two children, a boy and a girl," Dad began.
 
⁵     "I bet that is us," Kayla said to Jay.
 
⁶     "Shhhh," their father said. Then he told this story.
 
⁷     The brother and sister had a camp-out. They were going to fish. They had to dig for worms.
 
⁸     They dug up a can. In the can, they found a card. The boy looked at it.
 
⁹     "Let me see!" said his sister. "What is it?"
 
¹⁰     "I think it is a joke," he said. He saw a map on the card. Good luck awaited the one who tracked the clues.
 
¹¹     "We can try it!" the girl said. "Maybe it will be lucky!"
