Gold Team Got the Blues
By Beth Beutler

1     by Derrick Black, sports writer for the White Falcon Elementary School Gazette

2     On Saturday, the White Falcon soccer team was up and at 'em early to round up a week of soccer camp. Coach Brown divided the team into three squads to practice skills. Most of the camp days had started damp and cloudy, but on Saturday the sun on the soccer field looked liked melted butter on a pancake. The air was crisp and clear. It was a super day for a scrimmage.

3     The Blue and Red teams headed out to the field and stretched before the kickoff. They played a 20-minute, intense game that stopped abruptly when one player fell over the ball. Clyde Grey was not seriously hurt, although he did sprain his ankle and had to sit out the rest of the game. Fortunately, no one else got hurt, and the Blue team beat the Red easily 5 to 1.
