A Great Start

1     Every morning before school I pack my lunch. It's something mom has had me do ever since I can remember. While she has her morning coffee, I gather some items for lunch. She usually puts aside the main course for me - sometimes it's leftovers, like yesterday, when I took a plastic container with about a pint of left over chili. Some days, I make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I'll also add some fruit, like a pear or apple. I like to have a cookie or brownie, too.

2     Mom says that as I am growing to become a young man, I should learn how to do things like this. She doesn't like to rush in the mornings, so when I help, we can leave the house on time. We live right near the school, but once she drops me off, she has to get to her job which is another 15 minutes away. Her boss likes her to be there right at 8:30, and she doesn't want to get fired.
