Stop and Think
By Kathleen W. Redman

Once upon a time, when Jack was not very old, he began to think he could fly. I know he could not fly. You know he could not fly. People cannot fly. Jack just knew he could fly, though.

Jack put on his boots. He glued some feathers to his arms. He had an old cape. He tied it around his neck. Then he started up the ladder.

      "Stop, Jack," his mother said.

      "Stop, Jack," his father said.

"Where do you think you are going?" they asked.
