Jim and Lori wanted to swim. It was a hot summer day. They had a pool in their backyard.
They went outside with their mom. They jumped in the pool. They went off the diving board.
Jim and Lori's friend, Kim, came over. She swam with them for a tiny bit. Then Jim and Lori's mom said it was time to come out.
"Why?" Kim asked. "I just got here."
"I know," Jim and Lori's mom said. "They can't stay in anymore, though."
"Why not?" Kim said. "It is so hot out."
"You don't have to go home yet. They have to get out so they don't get swimmer's ear again. I need to put drops in their ears," Jim and Lori's mom said.
"What is swimmer's ear?" Kim asked.
