Minegoo of the Singing Waters (A Micmac Legend)
By Mary Lynn Bushong

1     Before time began, the Great Spirit lived in the Happy Hunting Grounds. One day he decided to create the universe. In the darkness of space he made lights with stars.

2     He made the sun, moon, and planets. It took him much thought and even more work. Finally, he was done and sat down to rest.

3     The Great Spirit was sad. He had no one with whom to share his creation. He had no one to show how beautiful it all was. Then he smiled. He could fix that problem.
