Spanish: En cama
By Beth Beutler
I didn't plan for it to happen. Wilson asked me if I could check on the garden. It had been very dry lately. We had not had rain for over a month. I thought I should water the plants. I did not realize what would happen!
Let me start at the beginning. I live in a big old house in England. It is a family home. It has been in our family for a very long time. It is a huge house. It also has a humongous garden where I love to play.
Because it is so big, my sister, brother, and I often play hide-and-go-seek in the garden. There are many places to hide. The large bushes provide a place to crouch. There is a gazebo with lots of vines growing over it.
Wilson is our gardener. He works very hard to make that garden beautiful. One day, he was not feeling very well. So he asked me to check on a section of spring flowers that were just popping out.
I skipped through the garden to the spring bulb beds. I could smell the fragrance from the flowers. When I got to the daffodils, I noticed they were very dry and droopy. I looked around for a hose and found one nearby.Paragraphs 6 to 11:
