The Horrid Three-Horned Face
By Kathleen W. Redman

The children followed Dr. Dinosaur down a long hall. He stopped at a corner.

"Children," he said, "get ready to see Triceratops horridus."

     "What's a , a, a, - one of those things?" Jaime asked.

"A Triceratops (try-SER-uh-tops) is a dinosaur with three horns on its face. Triceratops horridus was a horrid dinosaur," Dr. Dinosaur said.

"What does horrid mean?" Terry asked.

"It means very, very bad," Dr. Dinosaur said.

"Was it a very, very bad dinosaur?" Laine wanted to know.

"No," Dr. Dinosaur laughed. "It is called horrid because it had rough textured bones!"

"I bet it was ugly," Merry said.
