Food Scientist
By Cindy Grigg

1     When you walk through a grocery store, do you ever marvel at all the different foods to be had? Do you ever think about all the scientists who helped create all the food on the grocery store shelves?

2     Food scientists apply scientific concepts from physics, chemistry, biology, and health to the making and preparing of food. They are involved with all aspects of food, from taste and nutritional value to packaging and food safety.

3     Food scientists work in the food processing industry. Some work in universities. Some work in government. They try to create food products that are healthy, safe, tasty, and easy to use.
