Vamos al circo

1     Billy detuvo su bicicleta cuando montaba con su hermana Rosa por la acera cerca de su casa. "Mira, Rosa", dijo, mientras apoyaba los pies en el suelo y apuntaba a un gran letrero amarillo sobre un poste telefónico. "El circo viene a la ciudad este fin de semana. ¿Crees que mamá y papá nos llevarán?"
 
2     Rosa se detuvo junto a él y miró el letrero. "Eso sería divertido", dijo. "Vamos a casa y preguntémosles".
 
3     Los niños volvieron a subirse a sus bicicletas y se dirigieron a su casa. Cuando llegaron, las guardaron en la cochera y salieron al patio hablando animadamente. Encontraron a su mamá y su papá trabajando en el jardín.
 
4     La mamá se puso de pie y se sacudió las manos. "¿Cómo estuvo el paseo en bicicleta?"
 
5     "¡Genial!" dijo Rosa.
 
6     "Queremos hacerles una pregunta", dijo Billy.
 
7     "Claro", dijo el papá. "¿Qué es?"
 
8     "El circo viene a la ciudad este fin de semana", dijo Billy. "¿Podemos ir?"
 
9     La mamá miró al papá y sonrió. "Bueno, no sé", contestó el papá, a regañadientes.
 
10     "Ay, por favor", dijo Rosa.
 
11     El papá se rió. "Sí, podemos ir. De hecho, mamá ya tiene los boletos".
