¿Por qué respiramos?

1     ¿Sabías que a lo mejor respiras más o menos 50 millones de veces en tu vida? El respirar da la vida a todos. Tienes que respirar todo el tiempo. Te morirías si no respiraras. ¿Sabes lo que es tan increíble? No tienes que pensar en respirar. ¡Lo haces sin pensar!
 
2     Un bebé respira cerca de 40 veces al minuto. Un niño respira acerca de 30 veces al minuto. Un adulto activo respira acerca de 25 veces al minuto. Finalmente, un adulto al descansar respira acerca de 15 veces al minuto.
 
3     Aspiras más o menos una taza de aire con cada respiración mientras estás descansando. Pero, si estuvieras haciendo algo más activo, como correr, aspirarías acerca de seis tazas de aire.
