IL LETTO DI PIUME D'OCA

1     Marie adorava stare a casa della nonna. C'era la vecchia fattoria, gli ampi campi aperti, e i gattini nel granaio. Ma quello che le piaceva più di tutto era il letto nel quale dormiva la notte. Ci si stava bene, ed era così morbido e grande, che le piaceva andare a letto. Marie si metteva comoda e guardava il sorgere della luna dalla sua finestra.
 
2     "Nonna" chiese Marie mentre aiutava a fare il letto, "perché questo letto è così bello e morbido?"
 
3     "E' un letto di piuma" disse la nonna. "E' fatto di morbide piume e piumino d'oca. Per quello è così bello".
 
4     "Dove hai preso tutte quelle piume d'oca?" chiese Marie. "Tu non hai oche».
 
5     «No, non ne ho» disse la nonna. "Mia madre fece questo letto per me. Aveva molte oche".
 
6     "Raccoglieva le piume una ad una?" chiese Marie.
 
7     "No" disse la nonna. "Mangiavano le oche. Ogni volta che mia madre preparava un'oca per un pasto, conservava tutte le piume e il piumino".
 
8     "Che cos'è il piumino?" chiese Marie.
 
9     "Il piumino è piuma molto morbida che è sotto le altre. E' soffice e funge da biancheria intima per l'oca. (La mamma) conservava tutte le morbide piume del corpo in grandi borse finché ne aveva a sufficienza".
